Significance of Kashi Panchkroshi Yatra

Shri Kashi Panchkroshi Dev-Darshan Yatra is highly significant and effective right from the beginning of Satyug to Kaliyug. Lord Shiva had told Mata Parvati that those who worship the Gods and Goddesses lying in the Panchkroshi Circle of Kashi, get free from all the sins accumulated during their seven births and he never enters in any womb and finds a through way to heaven.

In the Treta Yug, after killing demon king Ravana, Lord Rama came to kashi and completed this yatra. And in Dwapar Yug the same was completed by the Pandavas.

This is a journey of 5 Kosh (50 miles approx) and it is considered to represent the Visheshwar Jyotirlinga. This is also mentioned that the course of this Panchkroshi Yatra varies in different yugas.
